We will be attending the University of Northern Colorado for their team camp. Camp dates are June 4, 5, and 6. Camp fee this year is $200 and $10 for the charter bus, please pay the business office no later than May 18, 2018. Total fee will be $210.00 made payable to Doherty Football.
Pre-Camp practice will begin May 21st and go Monday through Friday from 4:00-6:00 pm at DHS. We will continue pre-camp practice May 29th and go Tuesday through Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Garry Berry Stadium.
Summer Lifting Sessions will begin for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors June 11th. Summer Field Work Sessions will begin June 18th. More informaiton to come.
Freshman will begin their summer field work and weight room sessions June 11th. More information to come.

On December 4th, Monday evening, the Spartan Football Program will be hosting their end of the year banquet to celebrate another amazing season! Snacks will be available starting around 5:45 pm and we will begin the night of awards and recognition at 6:30 pm in the auditorium at Doherty High School. The athletes have been asked to dress up a little by wearing at least a collared shirt. We will be recognizing the freshman and their undefeated conference championship season, the jv players, the seniors, and all that earned all conference selections! Hope so see all in attendance, this is a family affair so come all and enjoy the night.

Smoky Hill will not be able to suit up a JV team, therefore, the game scheduled for October 7 has been CANCELLED. We will let the players know if we are able to schedule a game to replace Smoky Hill. Thanks for your patience.
For those of you new to DHS, we do some pretty special things for our Homecoming football game. We start the events off at Garry Berry Stadium at 3:30 pm with our C-Squad football team playing Smoky Hill. When you arrive at at the stadium, you will notice the street in front of the stadium will be closed and there will be CSPD officers on both ends of the street. At 4:30 pm, our tailgate party starts in the street! We have Big Pappas Grill, Chick Fil A, El Chapo Taco Truck, Marco's Pizza, and Kona Ice. At 5:00 pm, the Varsity team will arrive via police escort and they will walk down the middle of the street and tailgate party to their locker room. The tailgate party goes until about 6:30 pm so those watching the C-Squad game can head out and enjoy the festivities! Our guests will only be charged ONCE at the stadium so folks can come and go between the tailgate party and stadium.
We are very excited to welcome the United States Air Force Academy's Wing Of Blue Parachute Team to our event. There will be 6 parachuters bringing in a Doherty flag, game ball, and American Flag to the stadium right before kickoff.
Plan to get to the stadium early and enjoy the festivities!!!

We apologize for any frustrations but because of families leaving town for the weekend and getting back Monday morning we will be holding practice at normal time from 4:00-6:00 pm. Those that can stay we will have a film session from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Friday September 15th at 3:30 pm all levels will be taking a team photo and their individual photos!
Varsity and C-Team play Thursday night against Palmer while JV plays Saturday.
We will let the boys know what uniform they are wearing but again team/individual photos will take place on Friday September 15th at 3:30 pm on the upper field.
Christy Decker will be providing our photos this year and information will soon go out so you can buy!
All eligible athletes, must have nine days of practices, will be dismissed after 4th hour. They will need to have a good lunch and prepare to depart from the east lot at exactly 1:00 pm. Athletes will be cleared from periods 5, 6, and 7. They are responsible for all work missed! If your athlete knows they do not have the mandatory nine practices they are expected to attend class. Athletes attending the scrimmage will be wearing their practice gear and uniforms.

Varsity will begin at 3:30 pm and scrimmage for an hour or so.
JV/C-Team will follow the varsity on a split field and scrimmage for an hour or so.
Busses will plan on returning to DHS around 6:30 pm.

Friday = Scrimmage at Castle View! All Levels Will Travel as long as the athlete has all nine practices. Busses will depart from DHS east parking lot at 1:00 pm. Athletes will be dismissed at least 30 minutes prior to the busses departing. Warm Up at Castle View High School will begin around 3:00 pm and the scrimmage will begin at 4:00 pm. Varsity will kick things with the JV team and c-team to follow. Return to DHS is scheduled to leave CVHS for around 7:00 pm.
Saturday = Film/Lift from 8:00-10:00 am. Team photos will go from 10:00-11:00 if we can get them scheduled and ready......stay tuned for a final answer on team photos.
Saturday is the Never Alone 5K at Monument Valley North Park!!! (Previously football stated Memorial Park and that was incorrect, sorry for the confusion)

August 14th marks the first official day of football practice in the state of Colorado. Sparta takes absolute pride in being the first to practice in the state! This year we have taken steps to insure a positive experience not only for the boys but for the community as well. Letters have gone out into the community surrounding the field with detailed information about the night and how it is going to be a great event. We invite all to come and watch. Representitives from KOAA and CHSAAnow will be in attendance along with our athletic director Mr. Noll.
Details = Coaches will arrive around 11:00 pm on Sunday August 13 to start unlocking field and setting up. Players can arrive anywhere from 11:15-11:55 pm to get ready for practice. To practice: The players must have their receipt and emergency card from the business office showing that they have payed and turned in all appropriate paperwork! No ticket equals no practice. Where: We will be holding our midnight practice at Wasson High School on the new turf field which is just south of the high school and weight room. Players should bring their cleats, gym shoes, and, if they have it, their new spirit gear as clothing. If they do not have the new spirit gear anything Doherty will be fine or something blue/green. No helmets will be used for the midnight practice. When entering the parking lot please be courtious of our neighbors and drive slow and do not slam doors. When: Practice will begin right at 12:01 am Monday August 14!!!!! This is not a mandatory practice but we highly recommend all attend as it is a great way to start the season and it creates lasting memories for the boys. Time: Practice will run from 12:01-1:10 am. Lights will be turned off at 1:15 am. Remember, as players and parents leave please drive slow and do not slam doors when getting into vehicles.
