Boys Soccer - July and August Calendar UPDATED

Please check the "Team Files" on the Varsity page for a new, updated calendar for July and August.

We are going to try to train together in July on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays but may have to move to two groups training at different times depending on number of coaches available to help with training. Players need to be at Gary Berry South at 7:40 so they are warmed up by 8:00. We will train until 9:40.

The Rocky Mountain State Games are July 27-29.. A team will be chosen from the trainings in July to include returning varsity and any other players the coaches feel are ready.The roster will be announced no later than  July 24 (possibly earlier).

Please note that there will not be a Mitchell Tournament in early August and that there will be no training, weights, or conditioning on Wednesdays and Fridays in July.

Finally, a reminder that Tryouts will be held August 6-7 and regular practice will begin August 8 (see Calendar).

Tryouts are August 6!

Parents and players,

Please be aware that our season starts a week earlier this year. Tryouts are August 6!

CHSAA has authorized practice starting one week earlier and we begin that day. Please make sure that your son is here for tryouts. The calendar has August dates as well as June and July. The calendar is located under "Team Files" on our Varsity Soccer Page. Please be aware of all activities and help keep to our commitments.

Boys Soccer - Weights then Running at Cottonwood tomorrow (6/27/18)

Tomorrow we will have weights from 7:30-8:30. Afterwards we will go to Cottonwood Park to run from 9-10. It will be hot! Please bring running shoes and lots of water.

Schedule for this Wednesday and Friday (June 20 & 22)

Wednesday and Friday, I will not be here. The boys are going to organize running on their own. They told me they were going to meet in the East Parking lot at Doherty at 7:30 on Wednesday and drive over to Pulpit Rock. Anyone who wants a ride can meet them there. They also said they were going to breakfast afterwards if anyone is interested. Those who cannot go to breakfast can get a ride back to Doherty from one of the boys.

Friday, there will be weights from 7:30-8:30 with Coach Hale (at Doherty) and then the boys were going to go outside and run at the soccer field (9-10 a.m.)

Training - Wednesday June 13 @ Doherty for weights and Rudy for conditioning

Tomorrow (June 13) we will have weights from 7:30 - 8:30. Meet by the weight room door (back side of Doherty). After we finish weights, the boys will have 30 minutes to rest and get over to Rudy Elementary. From 9:00 to 10:00 we will run the hills behind Rudy.

Players who do not have their own transportation have three options: 1) Come only to weights, 2) Come only to conditioning at Rudy, or 3) Find a ride from Doherty to Rudy, either parent or older players. Parents must consent to letting their son ride with another player. Coaches do not give rides.

Change to June Schedule

Since the original announcement, we made a change due to availability of the weight room. We will still meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting this week but it will be a little different. Mondays we will only condition from 7:30-8:30. We will be in the weight room from 7:30-8:30 on Wednesday and Friday and then condition from 9:00-10:00. Please note that where we condition will vary throughout the week.

The calendar in the "Team Files" on the varsity page shows the changes and is updated.

Boys Soccer Summer Schedule 2018

The summer schedule for the 2018 Doherty Boys Soccer season is now posted under team files. June sessions will focus on conditioning and weight training. We will meet at Doherty on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 11:30. These trainings will begin on June 11. Meet at the Doherty Soccer Field at 8:55 a.m. July trainings will be at Gary Berry South. Varsity players are to report at 7:45 to warmup with training beginning at 8 a.m. Returning JV, C Squad, and Freshmen are to report at 8:45 to warmup with training beginning at 9 a.m. July sessions will end at 10 a.m. for all players.
